2024 CD-i Zelda Popularity Poll
A popularity poll dedicated to the Animation Magic Zelda characters was conducted for one week on Tumblr in January of 2024. Participants were told to vote for their favorite character across four categories, including:
- The main characters from both games, plus Morshu and Duke Onkled;
- The non-Ganon bosses from both games;
- The TFoE NPCs minus Morshu, and;
- The TWoG NPCs minus Duke Onkled.
There were a few flaws with this system. Not every poll got shared/voted on equally, so the amount of votes per poll differed. The polls only allowed for one character to be voted on and did not show the exact number of votes that each option had, limiting the usefulness of the data. The splitting of Morshu and Duke Onkled was a bit strange and biased, even if it did prevent a complete voting blowout by both characters. The Fairies were excluded from both NPC polls. And so on...
These problems would be corrected (mostly) for the 2025 survey's popularity poll.
Without further ado, here are the results of the 2024 Popularity Poll. The most-voted character will be bolded.
(The amount of votes per option had to be estimated from percentages, and may not be entirely accurate.)

Findings
- The most popular characters in every category were Morshu, Hektan, Fish Lady, and Mayor Cravendish.
- The least popular characters in every category were a tie between Impa and Duke Onkled, Wizzrobe, Odranoel, and Sanda.
- CD-i Zelda was over twice as liked as CD-i Link.
- The Faces of Evil's bosses (minus Goronu) had a more even vote spread with similar percentages, while most of the votes for The Wand of Gamelon's bosses went to Hektan and Iron Knuckle.
- While both King Harkinian and Morshu fought valiantly for the most popular "main" character, Morshu ultimately won by 19 votes.
