Link: The Faces of Evil - Cheat Codes

As of writing this page, there are no known cheat codes for the original release of Link: The Faces of Evil. :(

To compensate for this, I've listed two cool tricks you can do, and the cheat codes exclusive to the fan remaster by Dopply!

Skip The Nortinka Branch

You can skip out on unlocking any level on the Nortinka branch (Toyku Lighthouse, Firestone Lake, Shipwreck Cliff, Lupay, and Hermit Flat) and be able to defeat Ganon. Every non-Nortinka level on the branch contains items that, while very nice to have, are ultimately not needed as both the Ganon's Lair unlock and Book of Koridai are on the other two branches, and can be obtained without the Nortinka branch items. This, by result, makes the fight with Lupay and the preceding Harlequin rematch optional.

The items you'll miss out on include:

The only reason to even go to Nortinka is to grind snowballs so you can get the firestones needed for Goronu's fight.

Obviously, this makes the game much harder. It's in your best interest to grind Rupees and bombs, as well as spam the bell in Ganon's Lair.

Skip Militron's Rematch

The rematch with Militron in Ganon's Lair is an optional fight. That is, he doesn't block Link from accessing the rest of Ganon's Lair, whether through an invisible barrier or a locked door only he has the key to. You can just run past him to the rightmost door in the room. It's easier to pull off then the Nortinka branch skip, though you'll need to jump over an insect that wants you dead and (potentially) use the Bell to freeze the flying enemies.

Remaster Cheat Codes

These cheat codes can be entered on either the main menu or the world map. You'll hear a King Harkinian voice clip upon activation.
The remaster, by default, sets Attack to X and Use to V. However, these can be changed by the user.
